If you are using a file for a business process then you need to understand possible problems.
Files that are used month-in month-out may accumulate unnoticed errors, redundant links to out-of-date files or manually adjusted formulas that have been forgotten about.

ERROR REPORTS
Check for errors in every cell in every sheet of your file:
♦ Info about each cell (the error type, what’s in the cell, the cell location)
♦ Click the link to go straight to the cell to edit it
♦ Since #REF errors can cause a chain of other errors, the source cells are highlighted so you can fix these first
LINK REPORT FILE STRUCTURE
Create a report of all external linked files .
This report runs for all open workbooks so you can check the file structure of multiple workbooks. Just open them up and run the report.
Any closed externally linked files are highlighted red so you can easily see if there are any unopen workbooks linked to your files.
LINK REPORT CELL DETAILS
This link report gives you details of every cell that links to external files.
You get all all details for each of those cells:
♦ the file name
♦ sheet name
♦ cell reference
♦ the formula in the cell
♦ the result of that formula
Plus you get a link to the cell so you can immediately go and change or check it.
CONSTANTS IN FORMULAS REPORT
People often make manual adjustments to formula results. It may be almost impossible to find these adjustments once they have been made.
This report will show you every formula in your workbook that mixes formulas with constant numbers.
Some of these will be correct so the report will show you exactly what is in the cell and the result of the calculation. You can then jump straight to the cell to make any necessary changes.
You will find this report particularly useful if you use large files, workbooks over several months or spreadsheets that are edited by others.
